Villalobos of Bethany Inner City Church of Fresno, address special challenges within communities typically underserved or unable to access mental health services. They explore ways in which faith communities can serve as a compassionate, culturally competent link to mental health services for the unengaged. Airs Monday, May 19 at 9:30 p.m., and Friday May 23 at 11:30 a.m.

Dr. Scott Ahles, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, UCSF - Fresno and member of Temple Beth Israel, Imam Seyed Ali Ghazvini, Spiritual Director of the Islamic Cultural Center, and Pastor Tim Schellenberg, Chaplain at St. Agness Hospice, discuss how faith communities can augment suicide prevention efforts; and in the rare, but unfortunate instances of death, deal more compassionately with survivors. Airs Monday, May 12 at 9:30 p.m. and Friday, May 16 a 11:30 a.m.

MENNONITE PEACEMAKERS SPONSOR SPEAKER
Tim Huber, an MCC worker in Germany, will be speaking on Tuesday evening
April 1, at 7 p.m. at Mennonite Community Church (5015 E Olive Ave) in
Fresno. Huber, a Tabor College graduate, is seconded by MCC to the
Military Counseling Network, a German organization founded by the German
Mennonite Peace Committee. The Military Counseling Network provides
counseling services to U.S. military personnel stationed in Germany. On
both evenings, Huber will be sharing stories of the struggles and choices
facing U.S. military personnel. Both evenings are sponsored by Mennonite

PACIFIC ARTIST SERIES
Friday, March 28 at 7:30pm. -- The final offering in this year's Pacific Artist Series will feature the Tabor Duo, Dennis Plies on the the marimba and Walter Saul at the piano. 2008 Graduate Student Essay Contest: Deadline April 25, 2008.
Enter today to win! $500 first prize plus (for first prize and 4 runners-up) one year paid ACA Student Membership and essay publication in Counseling Today.
Voice your opinion on issues vital to the counseling profession. Write up to 750 words on one of the following topics:
A. What is the single most important issue you see facing the counseling profession of the next decade?
B. What can counselors and/or the counseling profession do to be more poractive in combating depression and the problems it brings?
C. Do you think all professional counselors, regardless of specialty, should be licensed? Why or why not?

Lectio Divina: Not Your Average Bible Study
Audrey Hindes will lead the Discussion in the Library Tuesday, Mar. 25, 2008, 4-5pm. She will reflect on the method of Lectio Divina, followed by time to practice it together.

MENNONITE PEACEMAKERS SPONSOR SPEAKER
Tim Huber, an MCC worker in Germany, will be speaking on Tuesday evening
April 1, at 7 p.m. at Mennonite Community Church (5015 E Olive Ave) in
Fresno. Huber, a Tabor College graduate, is seconded by MCC to the
Military Counseling Network, a German organization founded by the German
Mennonite Peace Committee. The Military Counseling Network provides
counseling services to U.S. military personnel stationed in Germany. On
both evenings, Huber will be sharing stories of the struggles and choices
facing U.S. military personnel. Both evenings are sponsored by Mennonite

COMMUNITY AUSTISM PARTNERSHIP
The Community Autism Partnership seminar will be held on March 7, at the FPU special events center. The keynote speaker will be Fred Volkmar, M.D. The registration deadline is February 29th, so check out fresno.edu/autism for more information.

DR. KENETH BAILEY
The First Armenian Presbyterian Church of Fresno is holding a three day presentation featuring Dr. Keneth Bailey. March 7-9th will be filled with worship, fellowship, and several messages by Dr. Bailey. For more information, call 559-237-6638.
Dr. Baily's area of specialty is the cultural background and literary forms of the New Testament. He will be speaking Friday March 7 at 6pm, Saturday March 8 at 9pm & 11pm, and Sunday March 9 at 11am.
Because large attendance is expected, special seating is being offered to people from MBBS. However, First Armenian would like reservations for those seats. If you are planning on coming, please let David Bruce Rose know as soon as possible so he can reserve you a seat.
